UPDATE: Bertie will not be going on a third hike with Foster Dog Summit.
You have to be a foster dog to hike here, and Bertie is now an adopted dog! Earlier this summer, Bertie hiked to the top of both Mt. Kearsarge and Mt. Cardigan.
Her new family reports that they are all "totally won over by Bertie and love her big time".
Even the cats in the household are taking a liking to Bertie. Bertie is enjoying daily walks, and her family has taken her on a couple hikes, too!
Our thanks to Canine Guardians for Life, Inc. for assisting Bertie in finding a new home! There are still a number of other dogs waiting for their permanent homes, including Davey, who reached the top of Catamount Hill a few weeks ago.
Many blessings on you for what you do and on Bertie and her adoptive family!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving Bertie and the others this wonderful, fun exposure and helping them on their way to their forever homes!! You're amazing!!
ReplyDeleteBertie is all settled in and enjoying her now home with us. She has gone on a couple hikes with us, and started attending doggie day care yesterday. She loved it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping foster dogs get some great outdoor exposure. What you do is awesome!
Michelle Roberts (and Rachel Kennon by proxy) :)
Thank you for the update on Bertie! It is so great to hear that she is doing well as a member of your family. She does so great with other dogs that I am sure she will be a star attendee at doggie day care. Please stay in touch and keep us updated on her progress. Thanks again for the kind words of support.
ReplyDeleteA bit late on the update, but Bertie continues to excel at both cat-love and day care. She keeps trying to give her toys (many, many toys!) to the cats, but they are less than receptive... although 2 of them love to head-butt her & give her snuggles. She is the life of the party at doggie daycare, which she attends 3 days a week (www.tuckeredoutdogs.com). She loves Matt & Arie, and her attendance gives us a slight break at night from her boundless energy. She has brought us so much joy. And she LOVES snow (and her new sky-ball)!!! We look forward to seeing how she does on kayak trips once the spring hits. I'm willing to bet she's going to love Lake Chocorua!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for everything you do to help our four-footed friends!
Peace and Kind Regards,
Michelle (Servant to Bertie Mae Billingsly)
